APREN - Associação Portuguesa de Energias Renováveis

The Portuguese Renewable Energy Association (APREN) is a non-profit association, founded in October 1988, with the mission of coordination , representation and defense of the common interests of its Members .

APREN’s Associates are companies holding permits to explore power plants for electricity production from renewable sources, such as the ones under feed in tariff as well as the ones that sell to the market, moreover any individual or collective person interested in the development of renewable energy sources in Portugal. At the end of 2015, APREN represented around 93% of all installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Portugal.

APREN develops its work together with official authorities and other similar entities, nationally and internationally, being an important key player in the development of energy policies for Portugal, promoting the deployment of renewable resources for electricity production.
