Flat-Plate Collector

is a type of solar collector in which the absorber plate is enclosed in a flat, heat-insulated enclosure. The enclosure is closed off with a glass shield. Flat-plate collectors are usually not evacuated, thus allowing conductive and convective heat loss through the movement of air.
