A Solar Developer’s Guide to Pakistan

This Guide was developed as part of the IFC Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Renewable Energy Development Support Advisory program, funded by AusAid, Japan, and The Netherlands for activities in Pakistan.

It provides background for investors who are implementing or intending to implement solar generating plants in Pakistan. It includes an overview of how a solar project could be developed in Pakistan and the legal and regulatory support mechanisms for that project. It also describes legal, regulatory and other issues concerning the preparation, agreement, approval and implementation of projects up to financial close.
